On Sunday 21 August the band travelled to Sark to provide accompaniment to the annual Sea Service held at Creux Harbour, a multi-denominational service giving thanks for the sea, our boats and all who work and travel on the ocean.

Music was provided by Guernsey’s Salvation Army band and the Reverend Julia Dallen of St Peter’s Church read the welcome and opening prayer. Reverend Karen Le Mouton of the Methodist Chapel gave the address and there were readings by Kathy Dewe representing the Catholic Church, His Excellency Sir Ian Corder (the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey), David Neale and the Very Reverend Tim Barker (Dean of Guernsey). Our guests from Guernsey travelled over on the lifeboat Spirit of Guernsey and the ambulance boat, the Flying Christine, was also in the harbour for the service. One of the lifeboat crew also gave a reading. The service was well attended by both visitors and residents some of whom enjoyed a swim in the harbour afterwards.
