The Corps meets weekly on a Sunday for worship at 10:30am & 6pm. Our meetings (services) are relaxed with songs, music provided by the Bands and Songsters/Children’s Singing Group, prayer, opportunities to explore a Christian theme with the children, Bible teaching and testimonies. Songs are projected onto a screen but we also have some song books available too. We have a hearing loop system and make as much as we can of using technology to aid us in worship. For those who cannot attend the meetings, we also record the meetings onto CDs which are available free of charge.
Although some soldiers (members) choose to wear uniform, many do not. There is no requirement of what to wear to attend our meetings and you will be made very welcome.
Every Sunday afternoon at 5:20pm we hold a prayer meeting which is well attended and use the time to pray together for the needs of the world, people, and the Church. If you have any prayer requests, please email or phone them through to us to include in our prayers.
After the evening meeting, you are welcome to stay for coffee and a biscuit and sometimes cake!
Come and Share Meeting
Once a month (usually the first Sunday – see Calendar) the evening meeting takes a more relaxed and informal tone. During this meeting people are encouraged to come and share with each other, choose songs, and listen to some bible teaching.
Since the summer of 2014 we have also shared in worship on a weekday evening. This is a time of more contemporary worship, with no brass band or Songsters. Worship is relaxed and spirit lead, with bible teaching and opportunity for prayer. During 2017 we are working our way through the book of Acts as we delve into what it means to be Church today.
The worship meeting is every second Thursday of the month at 8.00 pm. The dates for 2017 are detailed on the Calendar page.
