The band of L’ISLET FORTRESS Corps in Guernsey had a busy start to the summer season, taking opportunities to witness at a number of island events over the weekend. The band played at the Forest parish church fete on the Saturday afternoon, also taking an opportunity to share God’s word together with musical witness. On Sunday evening the band joined with St Peter’s Parish Church to provide music accompanying community singing at their annual St Peterstide service on the beach (pictured).
The Monday evening saw a number of band members, together with band members from ST PETER PORT Corps, join to provide music for a moving service to commemorate 70 years since the German bombing of St Peter Port harbour in 1940. The lives of those who died during the air raid were remembered in the service.
The bands of both Corps continue to play an active part in the community on Guernsey, and are thankful for the opportunity to proclaim God’s love in this special way.
