Emergency Response

As part of the States of Guernsey Emergency Plan, the Fortress is designated as a ‘Rest Centre.’  In the event of an emergency in the Island, the States of Guernsey can call on The Salvation Army to activate the Fortress and set it up to receive members of the community who may need shelter, or who may be traumatised and needing assistance in other ways.  To respond in an emergency, the Salvation Army can provide the resource of the hall and all equipment to assist with emergency response in Guernsey, set up a reception centre, first aid room, parent & baby room, play area, pet area, provide food & refreshments, clothing, transport using our mini bus, provide limited overnight emergency accommodation (Bed & sleeping bag) and offer a listening ear / counselling service.
